Thanks to the Parkes Show Committee
This year the feature of the Parkes Show was Landcare and the display was very well presented thanks to the hard work of the Show Committee members. On behalf of Parkes and Districts Landcare I wish to thank the Show Committee for their thoughtfulness in having the feature based on landcare.
Forum on next week
We are at the 10 ,9 8 7 stage of the commencement of the forum that will start in Parkes on Monday and go through to Wednesday. Every thing has been organised and the committee has been working hard on the Project for the past eighteen months. For those listeners who may not be aware of the forum it is the NSW Landcare and Catchment Management Forum that is held every two years and Parkes submission to conduct the forum was looked on favourably by Landcare Australia. Hello Landcarers.
The show season continues, with the Forbes show being held today and tomorrow. Though Landcare does not have the resources to be there this year, we wish the show committee all the best as we know that a huge amount of effort goes into these things. Agricultural shows also showcase a lot of what Landcare is also about – that is community getting together and rural production in a sustainable way. Hello Landcarers.
We have had a few great days at the Parkes Show with lots of people through the Carbon Expo in the feature pavilion. A great exhibit from Centroc and the Lachlan CMA and Landcare was so pleased to be a part of it! A special thankyou to Jamie our volunteer for Tuesday at the show – so great to have an extra pair of hands! We had solar people, grey water recyclers, the GreenSkills van, nurseries and tree people as well as the wonderful Parkes Public School, who are doing some great things at school with their energy busters program.
