Forum meeting held on Monday
Although the NSW Landcare and Awards night is to be held in Parkes on 5 to the 7 September we have been more than busy with the organisation of the event. We have been working on the organisation since November 2009 and at that time we were given a lesson on producing a time line for the events to happen to coordinate the Forum. This time line detailed every part that had to be achieved and to date we are right on target. The meeting was attended by ten Landcare members and persons from interested organisations who will be involved over the three days.

Meeting in Cowra last Friday
Committee member Gary Brennand attended a subcommittee meeting of the Lachlandcare Inc committee last Friday to consider changes in the Lachlandcare Constitution. There were four in attendance at the meeting traveling from all areas of the Lachlan Catchment. The meeting resolved a number of issues with the constitution namely the Membership of the Lachlandcare Inc and the voting rights at meetings. Gary also attended a Lachlandcare meeting in Cowra yesterday. This meeting had thirteen in attendance and was to hear how Landcare and other organisations sit in the structure of Lachlandcare. The meeting sought information from Landcare Umbrella groups, the Lachlan CMA , Greening Australia, Healthy Soils Australia and many more organisations. This was a worthwhile meeting to attend as also discussed was the application for projects and the reporting system that has to be met to satisfy grant requirements.

Money from Community Action Grants, Parkes and Districts Landcare set to impress

Nina Hooper Looking at Landcare 26th November  2010

Hope that all of you on headers are going well and that there are minimal breakdowns! Parkes and Districts Landcare had some great news this week with successful funding applications in two projects under the Caring for Our Country Community Action Grants – the CAGs.
