Earth Hour, Parkes and Districts Landcare, North Parkes Mine, CENTROC and the Shiny Halo,

Earth Hour Report.

On Saturday 26th March 2011, members from Parkes and Districts Landcare met at 5:30 at Northparkes Oval to take part in a community tree planting day. Trees were provided as part of the Shiny Halo blog, http://centroc.com.au/shinyhalo/ where one tree is planted for each article posted. Parkes Shire Council is a supporter of the blog, and as a result was allocated 200 trees to plant as part of a community activity.  Read Full Story

Looking at that date makes me cringe – can’t believe that we are nearly at the end of 2010, where did the time go? Hope that all of you on headers are going well and that there are minimal breakdowns! Parkes and Districts Landcare had some great news this week with successful funding applications in two projects under the Caring for Our Country Community Action Grants – the CAGs.

Looking at Landcare-Sausage Sizzling Trees

Hello Landcarers.
Hello Landcarers. A call out to all of you who might be looking for a day out this Saturday. We have a planting day at the Central West Livestock Exchange that will be starting at 10am. Grab your hat, gloves and covered footwear and come for half an hour or more and help us to make the site a bit more people and animal friendly, by popping in some more native trees. We will even feed you a sausage sandwich at the end for all of your hard work!
