enviorHUB Meeting held last Thursday
These meetings are held every three months and give stakeholders with similar environmental objectives to meet and discuss issues and projects that can be achieved collectively. The meeting was attended by representatives from
the Lachlan CMA, Central West CMA, Parkes Shire Council, Forbes Shire Council, NSW Farmers and National Parks Association plus Parkes and Districts Landcare representatives. On the agenda was a report from stakeholders on the activities/upcoming events and projects he stakeholders have planned, compiling diary dates for the next three months, enviroHub web page, Conservation Farming Field day in the Parkes district in February. A power Point presentation was shown of Parkes and Districts Landcare involvement with schools with the Eco days, the Kids Carnival, National tree day and other activities. The next EnviroHUB meeting will be held on 9 February 2012. .
Field days coming up These will be held on 20 and 21 October The field day of the 20 will be the South West Woodland nature reserve Cookamidgerra between 9.00 and 3.00pm and it will be springtime wander through the wildflowers. The second walk on the 21 October will be at the Lachlan Valley National Park Gunning Gap and Nina Crawford’s neighbouring property ‘Kite’. This will also be between 9.00 and 3.00 and this walk will explore the wildflowers, wetlands, water birds, old river red gums of Gunning Lagoon. There have been over 150 native plants including aquatic plants been recognised. These field trips are free and have been sponsored by Lachlan CMA, National Parkes and Wild Life Service , Forbes Urban Landcare Group and Parkes and Districts Landcare.
