Firstly send a cheerio and get back to work soon to Bill Archer- laid up in hospital, he had a little bit of a scare but should be back soon, tough as old boots.

Gerald attending Meetings.
Gerald has been in Sydney attending a Landcare meeting on Tuesday. Interesting topic was Bio Banking-money to manage areas reserved for Natural resource Management. Property assessed and valued and credits given. Those credits then traded like shares on stock market – as in using a broker and doing deals with land developers who need to offset the damage they may incur. Gives developers a speedier process re Development Applications. Grant applications
We have had quite a number of grant applications go in and there has been success with the Drain is for Rain project at Peak Hill which will involve students from both of the schools at Peak Hill and the grant fro the construction of 60 bird nesting boxes. We did put in for a grant for raised garden beds and shade houses for the villages of Trundle, Tullamore, Peak Hill and Bogan Gate but unfortunately we missed out but we will try again when the applications open. We are in the process of completion the expenditure on a FRRR grant for a printer, Banner Bugs, Tables and fuel subsidy to attend landcare matters. .  Read Full Story

Len and Anne Reade represented Forbes Urban Landcare at the Landcare National Awards Presentation Old Parliament House Building last Thursday night. Forbes Mayor Phillys Miller was also present.
