Kid's Landcare Carnival

Kids Landcare Carnival

Hundreds of kids will converge on Kelly Reserve for a hands-on Landcare Day jam-packed with exciting environmental education.

Exhibitors will include Taronga Western Plains Zoo's Zoomobile - Let us bring our Zoo to you. The Zoomobile travels with a collection of Australian native animals and each program is delivered by one of their qualified and experienced educators. Students' curiosity about the natural world will be sparked, as they come nose to nose with some of our country's most stunning wildlife, such as a snake, possum, frog, echidna, lizard, young crocodile, cockatoo and Tawny Frogmouth.

Enviro Craft will be attending running programs in Environmental awareness. Children will make projects, using recycled and sustainable materials to make hats, head bands, lanterns, mosaics, flags, banners, models, toys, musical instruments, fashion accessories, costumes, parade craft, props, sculpture, festival site decorations and environmental art installations.

Plus there will be heaps more….children will leave with activity books, posters, recipe sheets, stickers …and we're only just getting started! This will be part of the 2011 NSW Landcare and Catchment Management Forum, which will take place in Parkes from 5 - 7 September 2011.
